Shining a light on the fire and rescue service with The Firefighters Podcast

The Firefighters Podcast #268 with Catherine Levin.

I was delighted to spend time talking to Pete Wakefield, host of The Firefighters Podcast. Over an hour we explore a range of themes from culture to the Grenfell Tower fire, to the changing nature of media and the move for Emergency Services Times from print to digital as well as the growth of The Emergency Services Show.

I share aspects of my career including my freelance journalism, time in the US, London Fire Brigade and as a civil servant working in communications and fire safety policy. It’s a cathartic process and a reminder that the fire sector has changed a lot in many ways but there are many wicked problems that continue to be harder to solve.

Listen and see what you think.

Talking about the fire and rescue service and the evolution of publishing Emergency Services Times.
