The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has announced a number of appointments to its Strategic Leadership Team.

Assistant Chief Officer Andy Watt, currently Director of Training, Safety and Assurance, has been appointed as Deputy Chief Officer. ACO Watt will move into the role in November when current Deputy Chief Officer Stuart Stevens assumes his new role as Chief Officer.

ACO Watt brings a wealth of experience and skills to this role having joined Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service as a wholetime firefighter in 1998 and previously served as an on call firefighter in Inveraray.

Deputy Assistant Chief Officer Craig McGoldrick, currently Head of Training, has been appointed to the role of Assistant Chief Officer and Director of Training, Safety and Assurance.

Area Commander Jon Henderson, currently Director of Prevention, Protection, Estates and Fleet with Humberside Fire and Rescue Service will join SFRS as Assistant Chief Officer and Director of Prevention, Protection and Preparedness (PPP).

Until Mr Henderson takes up his post, ACO Watt will undertake the role of Director of PPP when current ACO David Lockhart retires at the end of September.
