NEC Software Solutions (NECSWS) has announced the completion of its acquisition of Riven Group, strengthening its portfolio of cutting-edge technology in support of its digital transformation of services and solutions.

Riven delivers a suite of tools that automatically identify personal information for redaction along with scanning documents for hidden data, saving significant amounts of time and reducing the risk of data breaches. This solution is in use by nearly half of UK Police Forces and has recently won the NPCC Commissioner’s Award for AI Safety at the National AI Awards.

“In adding Riven, and their DocDefender suite, to our portfolio, we have strengthened our offering across all our target markets as part of our strategy to expand our technology portfolio. We will work to bring this innovation to all our customers and explore integration with our wider solutions.”

Tina Whitley, CEO of NECSWS

Steven Richardson, co-founder at Riven, added: “We are excited to join NECSWS and work with the wider team to collaborate on product integration and take our solution to wider markets. This represents a strategic alignment of the values held by both of our organisations and we are eager to harness the respective strengths of the technology and services to make a lasting impact.”
