Staffordshire appoints new Deputy Chief Constable

3 March 2025No Comments2 Mins Read
Becky Riggs, Staffordshire Police

Staffordshire Police has announced that Becky Riggs, who is currently Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) has been appointed as Deputy Chief Constable (DCC).

Becky brings a wealth of experience to this role, with more than 30 years’ service in policing, spanning a range of leadership roles across different forces. She started her career in Dorset Constabulary as a police cadet and has worked for Hampshire Police, the Metropolitan Police and the City of London Police in roles leading on tackling child abuse and child sexual exploitation, fraud, counter terrorism and major investigations.

“I look forward to continuing to work with Becky and her role will be key in ensuring we once again become an outstanding local police service for our communities. Since joining Staffordshire Police in January 2023 as ACC overseeing Specialist Crime and Public Protection, Becky has been central in improving how we investigate crime and support victims. Her work to lead the teams in these areas has resulted in significant improvements which have been recognised by HMICFRS in our latest PEEL inspection.”

Chief Constable Chris Noble.

Becky has recently taken on the role of national policing lead for Child Protection – a topic which has been at the top of the news agenda both nationally and internationally over the last few months.

She will commence her new position when DCC Jon Roy, who joined Staffordshire Police in 2023, retires at the end of March.
