The Ambulance Staff Charity (TASC) is partnering with mental health solutions provider, OurPulse to offer its wellbeing app to TASC clients at the start of their recovery journey.

As a national charity, TASC provides independent, confidential support to the UK’s ambulance community, helping with mental, physical and financial wellbeing. Since its launch in 2015, mental health has been the most in-demand service, making up four out of every five interventions.

“At TASC, we’re always looking for new ways to improve support for our clients. We’re incredibly hopeful that OurPulse will be a valuable addition to the resources available for our lower-risk clients as they wait to start counselling with us.”

Angie Crashley, Wellbeing Support Manager, TASC.

OurPulse provides mental health first aid training, consultancy services and wellbeing apps. The OurPulse app gives TASC clients access to wellbeing resources while allowing TASC staff to monitor their progress.

One key feature is a fortnightly check-in survey where users rank their wellbeing. If someone’s mental health declines, an alert is sent to TASC so they can step in and offer support if needed.

“With limited charitable funds and rising demand, we have a waiting list for lower-risk mental health support. Until now, we’ve only been able to check in with people every few weeks.

“This app will give clients access to evidence-based self-care modules while allowing our team to monitor wellbeing in real time. Our in-house counsellors can then proactively reach out with interventions, safeguarding advice, or coping strategies.”
