Wiltshire Police’s ICT Robotic Delivery Team has received international recognition for its pioneering use of robotic process automation (RPA), winning a prestigious award at the SS&C Blue Prism Customer Excellence Awards held in New York.

The team was named the winner in the Rising Star category, an accolade that celebrates emerging leaders in intelligent automation. The awards are judged by a panel of global industry experts, including analysts, consultants, and journalists, and recognise organisations that are using RPA to deliver innovation, impact, and operational efficiency.

Under the leadership of Mark Levitt, Head of ICT, and Lynsay Birkett, Robotic Delivery Manager, the team has successfully implemented 25 automated processes using Blue Prism RPA, transforming how the force delivers services and supports frontline policing.

“This well-deserved award reflects the transformative work carried out by the team in this area.

“By embracing developments in automation, our Robotics Team has been able to free up time for colleagues to focus on supporting front-line policing.

“On behalf of the whole of Wiltshire Police, I heartily congratulate all those who have contributed towards this incredible achievement which will enable us to provide a better and more efficient service for the communities we serve.”

John Derryman, Chief of Corporate Services for Wiltshire Police.

In its commendation, the judging panel remarked: “Wiltshire Police is setting a national benchmark for intelligent automation, saving £1.11m in the first year and freeing up 27.6 FTEs to focus on frontline policing. With 23 processes planned by 2025, they’ve scaled at record pace, achieving full ROI (Return On Investment) in just six months. Their strong governance, use of Blue Prism’s ROM2, and collaboration across UK forces are enabling sustainable transformation, better data quality, and improved public service.”

Further recognition was given to Wiltshire Police’s Rhys Hagen, who was named a regional runner-up in the prestigious Builder of the Year category, acknowledging his outstanding contribution to the success of the programme.
