Telent’s approach to social value recognised with national award

Tech company Telent has been awarded the Bronze Social Value Quality Mark in recognition of its commitment to delivering positive, measurable impact through its Social Value Strategy.

Specialising in the effective operation of critical national infrastructure, Telent said it was proud to achieve this nationally recognised accreditation from Social Value Quality Mark CIC, an independent body helping organisations to improve, measure, and communicate their social value contributions in a robust and transparent way.

Telent said that the accreditation was testament to the way the company embeds social value in everything it does through its work with communities, the way it develops people and its approach to minimising its impact on the environment.

In an Emergency Services Times webinar from last year, Charlene Maginnis from Crown Commercial Service explained: “Social value is all about using the power of our procurement to drive additional benefits and value.” Joined by sustainability lead for Cheshire Police and Fire, Mick Johnson added that while only 10% of the value of a contract relates to social value, the additional value that can come from creative thinking has the potential to be huge.

Remarking on Telent achieving this award, Social Value Quality Mark CIC MD Richard Dickins, said it: “separates, distinguishes and celebrates those businesses who are genuinely committed to making the world a fairer place.”

“Securing the Bronze Social Value Quality Mark is a proud milestone for Telent and a reflection of the positive impact we’re already making. But this is just the beginning! We’re committed to building on this success as we continue our journey towards Silver and beyond.”

Sian Dunn, Social Value Manager, Telent.

The quality mark is valid for 12 months and Telent says that it is committed to working towards silver accreditation.

The industry will once again be gathering at the NEC, Birmingham for The Emergency Tech Show, co-located with The Emergency Services Show, on 17-18 September, check out the full exhibitor list here. You can find Telent in Hall 4, Stand C75.
