Dräger has introduced a new browser-based software solution designed to streamline daily operations in fire service workshops.

The Resource and Asset Management (RAM) system provides full documentation of processes and data across the life of each piece of equipment, supporting compliance, safety and operational efficiency.

RAM allows fire services to track the availability, condition and location of equipment, with alerts for when items are due for servicing or maintenance. It integrates maintenance data for gas detection devices and enables testing of equipment directly from the cloud.

“Dräger takes pride in designing technology that protects lives and we are dedicated to keeping people safe through our designs. The new software plays a vital role in safeguarding firefighters by ensuring they have reliable access to the essential safety equipment they need.

The software also plays a role in firefighter health protection through contamination monitoring. RAM records which breathing apparatus and PPE have been exposed to contaminants, ensuring only clean equipment is returned to operational use. It also logs cleaning processes, providing evidence that items have been decontaminated and are safe to wear.

“Even after a fire has been put out, harmful substances remain as soot and vapours on the surface of their PPE, which can have health implications for the subsequent PPE users. Having a clear inventory of contaminated stock helps fire service professionals quickly and efficiently select clean equipment before deploying it for operational use.”
