Working across police, fire, ambulance and other blue light organisations, boxxe delivers secure, scalable IT solutions that cut costs, improve resilience and free up frontline teams. At The Emergency Tech Show, visitors can explore the boxxe Lens platform in action – showing how cloud cost visibility, security optimisation and tailored Microsoft expertise can translate into faster responses and better outcomes for the public.

We spoke to the boxxe team to find out more.

1. For those who don’t know boxxe, tell us who you are and what you do in the blue light sector?

boxxe is a trusted technology partner for emergency services, offering tailored digital solutions that enhance operational effectiveness, accelerate response times and improve public safety.

In the blue light sector, boxxe works closely with police, ambulance, fire and other emergency organisations to deliver secure, scalable hybrid and multi-cloud environments, across our core solution pillars: modern workplace, cloud, hybrid infrastructure, cyber security, data & AI, software and services.

2. What are some of the key challenges you’re helping police forces address right now?

Police forces face mounting pressure to do more with less, balancing budget constraints with the need for modern, secure and efficient IT infrastructure.

boxxe helps address:

  • Cloud cost visibility and optimisation: Through the boxxe Lens services, forces gain clarity on their Microsoft Azure and 365 environments, identifying underused resources and cost-saving opportunities, gaining a better understanding of software and hardware estates through IT Asset Management (ITAM) services.
  • Security and compliance: With Microsoft Advanced Specialisation in Cloud Security, boxxe ensures police IT systems meet the highest standards for identity management, threat protection, and governance for cloud workloads. boxxe has also been trusted to deploy and manage patch management solutions , certificate management, threat intelligence, anti-phishing services and more into secure environments.
  • Operational efficiency: boxxe provides a range of managed services to free up time for the forces, keeping the lights on and allowing force IT teams to focus on strategy and improving outcomes.

3. You’ve developed the boxxe Lens platform – what does it do and how does it support frontline teams?

boxxe Lens is a suite of services designed to bring clarity and control to Microsoft cloud environments.

It supports IT teams by:

  • Providing scheduled reviews of Azure and Microsoft 365 usage
  • Highlighting license misalignment and underutilised resources
  • Offering expert recommendations aligned with Microsoft best practices
  • Delivering custom dashboards that track spend trends, security scores, and optimisation progress
  • Ultimately reducing cloud spend so that it can be reinvested in other IT solutions

These insights empower IT teams to make informed decisions, reduce costs, and maintain secure, compliant systems that support operational readiness.

4. What will visitors see or experience when they visit your stand at The Emergency Tech Show?

At The Emergency Tech Show, visitors to boxxe’s stand will experience:

  • Live demos of the boxxe Lens platform
  • Interactive dashboards showcasing real-time cloud optimisation
  • Expert-led Q&A sessions on cloud governance, security, and cost control
  • Insights into how boxxe’s services directly support emergency services organisations
  • Other solutions and services that boxxe is able to provide

The stand is part of the Microsoft Partner Pavilion, highlighting boxxe’s deep integration with Microsoft technologies.

5. From your perspective, what’s the next big step in digital transformation for policing?

The next frontier is intelligent automation and predictive analytics. By integrating AI-driven insights into daily operations, police forces can:

  • Anticipate resource needs using historical crime data, automated heatmapping and social media monitoring
  • Respond faster to incidents using automated video and image analysis, such as behaviour detection
  • Improve community engagement through data transparency
  • Automation of mundane data entry and report writing tasks

Additionally, VR/AR devices could be used for simulation-based training for police forces.

boxxe is actively exploring these areas, leveraging Microsoft Copilot and other tools to support smarter decision-making and proactive policing.

6. How does boxxe’s role as a Microsoft Partner enhance the way you support emergency services?

As a Microsoft Partner with 4 Solutions Partner designations and a specialisation in Cloud Security boxxe is able to provide:

  • Direct access to Microsoft expertise, funding and tools
  • Expertise in delivering Microsoft solutions around Microsoft 365, Azure Cloud and Local, Windows and more
  • Early adoption of innovations like Microsoft Copilot
  • Tailored licensing and optimisation strategies that align with Microsoft’s evolving standards

This partnership ensures that emergency services benefit from cutting-edge technology, robust security and cost-effective solutions.
