NEC Software Solutions UK strengthens public safety offering with Cadcorp acquisition

NEC Software Solutions UK (NECSWS) has announced the acquisition of Cadcorp, a leading UK provider of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and web mapping software, in a move designed to boost its public safety and location intelligence capabilities.

Cadcorp, founded in 1991, is known for its flagship product Cadcorp SIS and its expertise in spatial data analysis, cloud-hosted mapping solutions and geospatial consultancy. Its technology is widely used across sectors including emergency services, local government, infrastructure, housing, energy, finance and the environment to enhance service delivery and decision-making.

The acquisition will see Cadcorp integrated into NEC, combining its geospatial expertise with NEC’s existing platforms to deliver more connected and responsive solutions for local authorities and public safety organisations.

Integration of Cadcorp into NECSWS will begin immediately, with initial focus on aligning product development, customer support and strategic priorities to maximise benefits for clients across the UK and internationally.
