Zetron has announced the release of Zetron CAD, a new Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) solution designed and adapted specifically for UK public safety.

Zetron has been a trusted partner to UK emergency services for more than two decades, with over half of UK police forces already utilising Zetron’s Cortex telephony and radio solution. Zetron CAD offers a unified emergency response capability that seamlessly integrates incident and resource management with telephony, radio and digital contact in a single, intuitive user interface.

By consolidating critical communications, Zetron CAD streamlines incident management – enabling operators to capture, record and act on every type of contact, while ensuring a smooth handover between 999/101 call handling and officer response through radio dispatch.

Key features include:

  • THRIVE-ready assessments that bring together a holistic view of prior contact so call handlers can make better-informed decisions and escalate appropriately.
  • AI-powered assistance with advanced natural language processing and keyword recognition that assists operators when handling callers who are distressed, vulnerable or non-native English speakers, ensuring their needs are recognised and acted upon quickly.
  • Built-in analytics and visualisation that enables faster pattern recognition, so victims can be safeguarded sooner, and incidents can be investigated more effectively.
  • Native GIS and mapping, powered by a market-leading geospatial engine, gives teams real-time incident visualisation, effective search capabilities and richer contextual insight.
  • Integration with Record Management Systems (RMS) to streamline transitions between call handlers, radio dispatch and investigation teams by consolidating relevant information quickly and sharing it with other systems.

“Public safety control rooms are under extraordinary pressure, and operators need technology that lightens the load, rather than adding to it. By bringing every element of the dispatch process into one unified, clear and easy to use workflow, operators can focus on what really matters: assessing threat, harm and risk quickly, deploying the right resources and protecting the public with confidence.”

Simon Read, VP Global Portfolio & Strategy at Zetron.

Zetron CAD’s design helps minimise the need for extensive training and user support, expediting adoption, utilisation and reducing stress on staff. With a unified and easy to use interface, the system reduces double keying, connects data sources and improves the speed and quality of decisions – helping operators work faster and more confidently.

For police forces already using Zetron’s Cortex ICCS solution, Zetron CAD provides a low-risk step towards a more unified control room. By building on existing investment, rather than requiring wholesale rip-and-replace, it improves collaboration, cuts inefficiencies and lays the foundation for more modernised operations.

“The challenges facing UK police forces are unique – from rising mental health demands to growing expectations for digital engagement. Improving the flow of information between call takers, dispatchers and officers is critical. Our goal is for everyone in the chain to have the same real-time picture, ensuring quicker responses, better safeguarding and stronger outcomes for the communities they serve.”

The new Zetron CAD will be officially launched at The Emergency Tech Show (ETS), held at the NEC in Birmingham, 17-18 September. Zetron is a Premier Partner and will be in Hall 4, Stand C60, providing demonstrations of the new solution and hosting a launch celebration at 15:30 on Wednesday, that’s open to all event attendees.
