Registration opens for 2026 Police Unity Tour honouring fallen officers

Registration has opened for the UK Police Unity Tour 2026, a long-distance cycling event that brings together police officers, staff and supporters to honour fallen colleagues while raising vital funds for Care of Police Survivors (COPS).

The four-day ride, taking place from 6–9 August, is now in its 14th year and has become one of policing’s most significant acts of remembrance. Participants cycle wearing the Tour’s distinctive blue jerseys, fundraise directly for COPS and complete their journey at the National Memorial Arboretum, where a service is held for families of officers who have died in the line of duty.

Organised through regional chapters, the Tour offers structured training, local support and camaraderie for riders of all fitness levels. Participation fees cover accommodation and logistics, helping ensure the event remains accessible to a wide range of police personnel and supporters.

Eligible participants include serving and retired police officers, Special Constables, PCSOs, police staff and detention officers. Applications from individuals within the wider policing community, such as those from the Crown Prosecution Service, will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Riders must be at least 18, and the Tour may also accept an immediate survivor of an officer killed on duty if they meet the other entry requirements.

Support crews can include non-police personnel — typically staff, family members or close friends — who help ensure the smooth running of the event. However, any individual under suspension, criminal investigation or disciplinary proceedings is barred from participating.

Organisers are encouraging early sign-ups as chapters begin assembling their 2026 teams. Prospective riders can now select their regional chapter, begin fundraising and join what has become one of the most meaningful commemorative events in British policing.
