Report Fraud is the new name for Action Fraud

Report Fraud has replaced Action Fraud as the UK’s national reporting centre for cyber crime and fraud but continues to be run by the City of London Police for crimes in in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The soft launch at the start of December confirmed the start of a new era for fraud reporting as the City of London Police looks to improve the national response and development of a more comprehensive intelligence picture of cyber crime and fraud affecting people and businesses.

People affected by cyber crime or fraud in Scotland should continue to call Police Scotland using the 101 telephone number.

Report Fraud is the place where the public is encouraged to report if they have been scammed, defrauded or experienced cyber crime and it provides a central point of contact for information about fraud and financially motivated internet crime. It will provide:

As the national policing lead for economic crime, the City of London Police work alongside Report Fraud Analysis Services who are responsible for assessment of the reports and to ensure that fraud reports reach the right place.

• A clear and simple reporting process to tell the police about cyber crime and fraud
• Guidance on what to report and how that information is used
• Further support information for victims.
