Dräger has strengthened its UK and Ireland leadership team with the appointment of Matthew Evans as Head of Government, a role that will see him oversee the company’s safety technology portfolio across fire, defence and security, police, ambulance and the wider public sector.

Evans brings more than 15 years of experience at Dräger to the position. He began his career with the company as Product Manager for Breathing Apparatus before moving into roles across its fire and rescue, and defence and security divisions.

Most recently, Evans held a global advisory role, where he also served as International Programme Director. In that position, he supported key defence customers and played a central role in strengthening delivery capabilities and strategic partnerships at an international level.

The new appointment marks a transition from advisory responsibilities into a more operational leadership role within the UK and Ireland. As Head of Government, Evans will focus on accelerating execution, strengthening customer relationships and ensuring effective delivery for public sector organisations.

Commenting on the appointment, Evans said his experience across global functions had prepared him for a more hands-on role in the region.

“Having worked across global functions, I’m eager to bring that experience into a more operational role,” he said. “There is enormous opportunity for Dräger in the UK and Ireland to build upon its market-leading reputation and strong heritage within the public sector.”

He added that a key priority would be gaining a deeper understanding of customer challenges and translating those insights into practical solutions.

David Head, Sales and Marketing Director for UK and Ireland at Dräger, said Evans’ breadth of experience made him a strong addition to the leadership team.

“Matt’s experience across Dräger positions him well to provide an additional layer of leadership support and strengthen our offering to government customers in the UK and Ireland,” Head said.

The appointment reflects Dräger’s ongoing focus on supporting government agencies and emergency services with reliable, high-quality technology designed to protect and save lives.

Evans assumed the role on 1 January 2026.
