Having won a contract with West Midlands Fire Service in 2022, technology firm Unblur has revealed that the service has gone live with its IRIS Core and Tactics Incident Management and Situation Awareness Platform.

The company started work on a six month proof of concept in 2022, using its technology in one area of the West Midlands to help the service evolve the way that firefighters work using Unblur’s incident response solution.

After 18 months of collaboration, the new system is now in place and the company says it integrates with existing frameworks, offering an intuitive interface that supports efficient decision making and coordination in high-stress environments.

“The deployment of the Unblur IRIS Core and Tactics platform marks a significant advancement in emergency response capabilities for West Midlands Fire Service.

“As we embark on this new chapter, we look forward to continuing our partnership with Unblur in order to deliver the highest level of service and protection to the communities we serve.”

Martin Ward-White, Head of Operations, West Midlands Fire Service.

The Unblur IRIS Core and Tactics platform is a command and control solution, designed to provide first responders with comprehensive, real-time situational awareness during emergency operations.
