How innovation leads to affordable emergency communications

As a volunteer with UK HM Coastguard, I’ve experienced first-hand how communication failures can compromise critical operations. Whether coordinating cliff rescues along remote coastlines or managing multi-agency maritime emergencies, reliable connectivity isn’t optional – it’s the difference between successful operations and potential tragedy. This operational reality, combined with years of solving connectivity challenges across Wales’s most remote locations through Dragon WiFi, led me to create brands SARcom and PODcom.

Innovation born from real-world frustration

Dragon WiFi has spent years connecting Wales’ most challenging locations – from isolated farms to emergency service sites. We created SARcom after experiencing constant frustration with poor communications and aging infrastructure that fails when needed most.

One solution no longer works for all scenarios – remote islands, mountain peaks, or urban riversides each demand different approaches. We adapt our technology to create affordable, comprehensive packages that work in harsh operational realities where weather, geography, and budget constraints test every system.

We make technology fit real-world needs, not the other way around.

Proven innovation where others fail

Our team delivers connectivity solutions where others have failed because we adapt technology to real-world challenges. We’ve delivered mobile connectivity on Barra Island with O2 and wavemobile through the 5G DRIVE project, implemented IoT sensor networks across challenging rural environments, and created affordable communication solutions for industries operating in Wales and the UK’s most demanding locations.

This isn’t theoretical – it’s proven capability. When conventional approaches fail, we innovate practical solutions that emergency services can actually afford and use. Every Dragon WiFi project teaches us how to make technology work in impossible locations while keeping it realistic for operational budgets.

SARcom: innovative, adaptable, affordable

SARcom delivers unbreakable connectivity through intelligent bonding of Peplink technology, Starlink satellite internet, OneWeb networks, and 4G/5G – creating affordable redundancy that ensures communication never becomes the point of failure.

Our comprehensive emergency response ecosystem includes ruggedised emergency phones, push-to-talk systems, and SOS beacons designed for harsh operational conditions, alongside portable CCTV body cameras, remote webcams and live tracking services. All solutions remain cost-effective for emergency services while providing the reliability and durability required for critical operations.

The innovative wavemobile small cell technology creates mobile 4G/5G networks anywhere they’re needed, while real-time team tracking provides operational oversight essential for complex emergency responses. With 99.9% uptime and service level agreements, we deliver reliability that’s both proven and affordable.

Adapting technology to emergency realities

My coastguard experience revealed how geography and infrastructure limitations compromise emergency responses. Remote beaches, cliff paths, and rural emergency sites often lack reliable connectivity exactly when it’s needed most. Rather than accepting these limitations, we adapt technology to create affordable solutions that work independently of existing infrastructure.

SARcom transforms communication black spots into fully connected operational zones through rapidly deployable solutions that emergency services can actually implement within realistic budgets. Whether establishing communication points along remote coastlines or creating mobile command centres for mountain rescues, we make advanced technology affordable and usable.

Affordable innovation for critical operations

For emergency services recognising that connectivity failures compromise effectiveness, SARcom provides innovative, immediately deployable solutions at realistic prices. The technology adapts to your operational requirements while remaining affordable for services operating within tight budgets.

We innovate because we understand the challenges. We adapt because every location is different. We make it affordable because emergency services deserve technology that works without breaking budgets.

When communications matter most, innovation makes the difference.
