Norfolk Constabulary has announced the appointment of Dave Marshall as its new Deputy Chief Constable following a rigorous recruitment process.

He succeeds Deputy Chief Constable Simon Megicks, who later this month will take up the role of Chief Constable at Cambridgeshire Constabulary.

Marshall is returning to Norfolk, where he previously served between 2008 and 2022, rising to the rank of Chief Superintendent. During his time with the force, he held senior positions across the county, including district commander roles in North Norfolk, King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, and Norwich.

He rejoins from Humberside Police, where he was Assistant Chief Constable before being promoted to Deputy Chief Constable in August 2023. He began his policing career in 1995 with West Yorkshire Police.

Chief Constable Paul Sanford welcomed the appointment, saying: “I look forward to working with Dave in the years ahead, delivering strong and effective leadership across the force and helping achieve our aim of providing exceptional policing for Norfolk.”
