Allison to highlight range of options for fire appliance propulsion systems at ESS

Allison Transmission and Emergency One (UK) Ltd have announced a strategic Memorandum of Understanding whereby the two companies will integrate the Allison eGen Power™ 100D electric axle (pictured) into Emergency One’s fire rescue and emergency vehicle platform.

Allison Transmission has spent decades designing and building fully automatic transmissions for diesel engines that perform at their best in critical situations. Moreover, it is innovating in highly integrated electrified propulsion solutions and complete electrified systems, as well as supporting fire appliance manufacturers using alternative fuels such as natural gas for their powertrains.

“Every commercial vehicle fleet operator is going through a period of transition with regard to the energy source for their vehicles, and the fire and rescue sector is no exception,” explains Nathan Wilson, UK & Ireland Account/ Market Development Manager at Allison Transmission. “At The Emergency Services Show, we look forward to helping fire services explore the many powertrain options available to them as part of what is a hot topic conversation for us all. For many fleets, an Allison transmission is one of the key vehicle mandated components and we want to reassure the market that Allison will continue to supply and support technologies to provide reliability, durability and performance in an application where every second counts.”

In April, Allison and Emergency One (UK) Ltd, also exhibiting at ESS, announced a strategic Memorandum of Understanding whereby the two companies will integrate the Allison eGen Power™ 100D electric axle into Emergency One’s fire rescue and emergency vehicle platform.
