The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) AGM and International Conference will take place in Brighton from 17-18 July 2019. Tickets are available for members and non-members alike to join the leading international fire engineer membership organisation for an informative and packed two-day conference.
Now in its 96th year, this year’s event carries the theme ‘Professionalism and ethics in the fire sector’. There will be interactive workshops from leading lights in the fire sector, including: Dawn Whitaker, CFO of East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service; Niall Rowan of the ASFP; and Sean DeCrane from UL. These will run alongside plenary Q&As and attendees will have the opportunity to listen to some fascinating and knowledgeable speakers, including Roy Wilsher, President of the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) and Suzanne McCarthy, Chair of the Fire Standards Board, and that’s just on day one!
The second day of the conference will have speakers including: Dr Barbara Lane, from Arup Fire, discussing a Case Study in Fire Engineering Design; and Emma Howard Boyd, Chair of the Environment Agency. This will be alongside the CPD approved workshops by even more of the top fire safety experts.
The IFE’s International Conference 2019 is a great opportunity to learn more about this fascinating area of engineering, catch up with old acquaintances, meet new ones and get that all important CPD log up-to-date at the same time. It should make for a great two days, so what are you waiting for?
