To secure a patient’s airway, endotracheal (ET) intubation is the gold standard, but the complex and unpredictable nature of EMS cases adds to the challenge of performing a quick and successful ET intubation.
Studies show that video laryngoscopes can improve laryngeal view and help increase EMS confidence and success in the field, by providing paramedics with a maximised view of the airway, even when the condition of the patient or scene prohibits them from obtaining a sufficient direct view.
Physio-Control is the UK distributor for the McGRATH® MAC EMS Video Laryngoscope. Designed and manufactured by Aircraft Medical, it combines direct and indirect laryngoscopy to give paramedics the confidence that they have the right tool for every intubation.
Unlike many video laryngoscopes, the McGRATH® MAC EMS is based on the familiar design of a traditional laryngoscope, with the added benefit of a video camera and screen. This incorporates both direct and indirect laryngeal views without the need for paramedics to learn a new skill. From routine to extreme airway situations, in paediatric or adult cases, multiple disposable blade options provide the same familiar curvature with an anterior camera angle.
