Mitsubishi Motors responds to support the Metropolitan Police Service

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has made 10 vehicles available for use by Metropolitan Police Service in response to a request for more vehicles to help with patrolling and general police work related to the Coronavirus crisis.

The vehicles, a mixture of Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and ASX models, were on site at Mitsubishi Motors’ Cirencester headquarters and therefore relatively straightforward to organise for collection while adhering to all public health guidelines regarding social distancing.

The vehicles were transported to London last week and are currently in daily use by the police in the nation’s capital where they can remain for as long as is necessary.

Clive Messenger, General Manager – Fleet Operations, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said, “When we were approached about providing additional vehicles to the Metropolitan Police Service, to help them in the fight to curtail the Coronavirus, we were only too happy to help. We found all the suitable vehicles we had on site and made every one available for immediate collection. Our small contribution pales in comparison to the sacrifices our emergency services, NHS staff, carers and key workers are making, but we are happy to help where we can.”
