New Chief at Leicestershire FRS to take over in May

Cllr Steve Corrall, Chair of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Fire Service Combined Fire Authority, has announced that Richard Chandler will be appointed as the new Chief Fire and Rescue Officer of Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service from 1 May 2015 following the retirement of Chief Fire and Rescue Officer Dave Webb.

Richard said, “It is with great pleasure that I accept this appointment. I am looking forward to my new role immensely and working with CFA Members, LFRS staff and our communities to overcome many of the challenging and stretching issues we are facing in one of the most prolific periods of change and innovation in fire and rescue history.”

Cllr Corrall said, “I am delighted that Richard has been successful in gaining this appointment and I very much look forward to working with him further. Richard has done an excellent job as Deputy Chief Fire and Rescue Officer and I know he will continue this work as he leads the service through some challenging times ahead.
