Sussex appoints new Deputy Chief Constable

Sussex Police Olivia PinkneyOlivia Pinkney (right) has been appointed as the new Deputy Chief Constable of Sussex Police.

Olivia has worked in Sussex since 2009 when she joined as Assistant Chief Constable and has worked in policing since 1991 when she joined Avon and Somerset Constabulary, where her roles included police commander for Bath and Head of Special Branch.

Chief Constable Giles York said, “As Deputy Chief Constable, Olivia forms a vital part of the chief officer team, ensuring the force can deliver on the priorities identified by our Police and Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne.

“When we launched this recruitment procedure, we advertised for someone who has a proven track record of being an inspirational leader, someone who is passionate about diversity and equality and, fundamentally, committed to serving the people of Sussex. I am in no doubt that we have found the right candidate for the job.”

DCC Pinkney said, “I am delighted to be appointed to the post and be part of the team delivering excellent policing for the people of Sussex.”
