West Midlands Police confirms new Deputy Chief Constable

The new Deputy Chief Constable of West Midlands Police has been announced as Vanessa Jardine (pictured).

The force’s former Assistant Chief Constable succeeds Louisa Rolfe, who has joined the Met Police as Assistant Commissioner.

Chief Constable Dave Thompson said, “I am delighted Vanessa will be my deputy. She succeeded in a talented field and is a dedicated and experienced officer whose work on the local policing portfolio has been exceptional. She will be a first-class DCC.”

David Jamieson, the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner said, “I am delighted that Vanessa has been promoted, she will be an excellent DCC.

“Vanessa is a first rate officer who has a real wealth of experience over a distinguished career in policing. She knows the West Midlands and is dedicated to the communities of our great region.

“Vanessa will be key in delivering my police and crime plan focused on reducing crime and protecting the public. She will ensure that the West Midlands is a safe place to work, live and somewhere businesses want to invest.”
