Edinburgh-based startup EmergencyLocate has been named a finalist ahead of the Scottish final of the StartUp Awards.

EmergencyLocate supports emergency, search and rescue organisations to locate and communicate with those in need using cutting-edge technology. Founded by Nick Sutton in 2019, EmergencyLocate was created to provide solutions that can be used alongside organisations’ critical infrastructure and established processes to help save lives.

The business has been nominated for the Mobile Technologies StartUp of the Year Award in Scotland.

“It is an absolute honour to be recognised for the work we undertake on behalf of our emergency service as well as search and rescue customers. We have already racked up almost 27,000 instances where we have made a positive contribution to an emergency response, and save lives every single day.”

Nick Sutton, founder of EmergencyLocate.

The UK StartUp Awards was launched to recognise the booming start-up scene across the UK and created in collaboration with the team behind the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, one of the most successful awards programmes in the UK. The UK StartUp Awards are running for the third year after launching in 2022.

The cohort of finalists will be considered for the regional prizes by a panel of seasoned judges with experience founding or supporting entrepreneurial ventures. The winners from each region will then be invited to the first UK final taking place at Ideas Fest, the Glastonbury for Business festival in Tring, Hertfordshire on 12th September 2024.
