Chief Constable Jeremy Vaughan has joined the board of the Police Digital Service (PDS), boosting the governance of the organisation that is  responsible for coordinating, developing, delivering, and managing digital services and solutions for UK policing.

Vaughan is the Chief Constable for South Wales Police and has been in post since 2020. He also holds a national brief as Vice Chair of the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) and is also the Chair of the NPCC’s Science and Innovation Coordination Committee.

The PDS Board is made up of Police and Crime Commissioners, representatives from the Home Office and Chief Constables including CC Rob Carden who is Chair of the NPCC’s Digital, Data and Technology Coordination Committee. The Board is chaired by the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Cumbria, Dave Allen.

“Jeremy’s experience and knowledge will help PDS enable law enforcement to protect the public through its use of effective, efficient and secure digital, data and technology. We welcome Jeremy onto the Board and look forward to working with him to support PDS in delivering for policing and the public.”

Meeting at least quarterly, the PDS Board’s role is to provide strategic direction and to review progress against the PDS business plan, financial report, performance report and risk register.
