The Scottish Ambulance Service has chosen EmergencyLocate to enhance its 999 call handling and deployment capabilities across Scotland.

Already used in other parts of Scotland and across the wider UK, key features of the EmergencyLocate platform include precise caller location identification; two-way text message communication with AI-powered language translation; enhanced location intelligence through advanced 3D mapping systems and navigation support to responders, once they have deployed from the ambulance.

The Scottish Ambulance Service responds to 700,000 calls each year and EmergencyLocate founder Nick Sutton said: “This collaboration will further help ensure that SAS can locate and reach patients quickly and efficiently, particularly in situations where every second counts.”

“The partnership with EmergencyLocate demonstrates our commitment to embracing innovative solutions that can help save lives. The technology will support our teams in delivering the right care to the right place at the right time and will be particularly beneficial in challenging scenarios and remote locations across Scotland.”

Professor Paul Gowans QAM, Associate Director for Research and Innovation, Scottish Ambulance Service.

The partnership will commence immediately, with the technology being implemented across the service’s three ambulance control centres in February 2025.
