This webinar discussed the transition of emergency service fleets to electric vehicles (EVs). Carl Christie and Michael Ayres emphasised the importance of collaboration, data gathering, and realistic goal-setting. Glynn Richardson from West Yorkshire Fire Service highlighted the need for resilient infrastructure and the challenges of funding and accessing charging points. Richard Muirhead from West Mercia Police stressed the importance of understanding different use cases, especially for rapid response vehicles. The discussion also covered the impact of the Civil Contingencies Act and the potential role of battery storage in ensuring resilience. The next webinar will focus on designing and delivering successful electrification pilots.
