The Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police, Nick Adderley, has been dismissed for gross misconduct following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). And solicitors who drew up an non-disclosure agreement which could have prevented whistleblowers exposing concerns about an ambulance service have been given an official warning by a regulator.

Northants Police chief dismissed for gross misconduct

The Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police has been dismissed for gross misconduct.

An independent panel found that Nick Adderley breached standards of honesty and integrity in policing and as a result, he has been dismissed without notice and placed on the policing barred list. More via Emergency Services Times

New guidance launched for London boroughs on climate adaptation

A new guide has been launched to support London boroughs on their climate adaptation and resilience journeys.

Authority appoints new chief fire officer for Cambridgeshire

A new chief fire officer for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service has been officially appointed by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Fire Authority.

Matthew Warren, who has been the Service’s Deputy Chief Executive since 2015, officially takes the reins from 1 July after the authority unanimously approved the appointment. More via Emergency Services Times

NFCC urges public to remain safe ahead of warmer weather

The National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) is urging the public to spend time outdoors safely to prevent fires and drownings. The message, which includes practical tips, comes as UK weather is predicted to improve in the next week. More via NFCC
