And a new strategy has been launched to prevent engagement in county lines, safeguard children and vulnerable adults, build community resilience and relentlessly pursue offenders.

Emergency services to stage major incident test in Guildford

A major incident response test, involving an ambulance service, two police forces and a fire and rescue service, is to take place in Guildford today.

South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) said the public should “be aware and not alarmed” by the “live-play” exercise, which will take place close to the town’s railway station. More via BBC News

New policing strategy launched to combat county lines crime

The National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) County Lines and Gangs alongside the National County Lines Coordination Centre (NCLCC) have launched the Disrupting County Lines Policing Strategy 2024 to 2027. More via Emergency Services Times

Isle of Man Constabulary increases starting salaries to boost numbers

A new pay deal for police officers has been agreed in a bid to drive recruitment and retain staff, the Isle of Man Constabulary has confirmed.

Starting salaries have increased by about £3,600 to £32,163, with the majority of existing constables receiving an annual uplift of between £2,500 and £6,500. More via BBC News
