With violence against women and girls at extraordinary levels, the Metropolitan Police is using a scientific approach to identify the 100 most dangerous offenders. And new research has shed light on ambulance handover times for NHS hospitals, concluding that thousands of patients are in harms way as a result of the lengthy delays.

With violence against women and girls at extraordinary levels, the Metropolitan Police is using a scientific approach to identify the 100 most dangerous offenders, using data to measure the seriousness of the offending and the harm they have and continue to cause to Londoners. Student paramedic saves man’s life in supermarket

A student paramedic found herself in the thick of the action when she saved a man who was having a heart attack in a supermarket.

Stacey Thain only started her training at the University of Sunderland in May, but when she saw the man in need of help she went into “auto-pilot”. More via BBC News

Force upgrades mobile surveillance capabilities

New book published detailing 75 years of Malton and Norton’s Fire Brigade

An on-call firefighter has published a book about the history of Malton Fire Station to raise funds for The Firefighters Charity. Crew Manager Ian Orledge’s 50 page book titled ‘On The Run. The History of Malton & Norton’s Fire Brigade’ concentrates on the period between 1885 and 1960. More via The Scarborough
