Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service has announced plans to build a new two-storey training centre in South Reading. And South Yorkshire Police’s Motorcycle and Rural Crime Team has seen a drop in rural crime since it added two new quad bikes to its fleet.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service has announced plans to build a new two-storey training centre in Whitley Wood, South Reading. The new training centre is due to open in summer 2025. More via Emergency Services Times

West Dorset farmland fire sparks cross county response

Firefighters from Dorset, Devon and Somerset were part of a major fire service deployment after a field of cut crop stubble caught fire on Monday.

Hose reel jets, fogging units, scotty backpacks, knapsacks, beaters were all used as Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) tackled the blaze in Abbots Wootton. More via Bridport News
