Report into fired police chief reveals multiple failings in vetting process

Northamptonshire Police has published a review of the vetting processes for Nick Adderley, the force’s former chief constable who was fired for gross misconduct after lying about his military record. The review describes a litany of failings and sets out eight recommendations intended to strengthen future procedures both locally and nationally. More via Emergency Services Times

College of Policing steps up wellbeing support for officers in the midst of disorder

The College of Policing is making additional wellbeing support and resources available to support police officers and staff. Forces have been dealing with violent disorder since last Monday with officers being attacked with glass bottles, flares and bricks. More via College of Policing

YPO and South Yorkshire Fire Service celebrate 20 years of collaboration

YPO and South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue are celebrating 20 years working in partnership. This two-decade milestone of dedicated service has enhanced the safety and wellbeing of emergency services staff and the delivery of services across the South Yorkshire region. More via Emergency Services Times

Video calls to help treatment for stroke patients

People in Hull and parts of East Yorkshire thought to be having a stroke can now be assessed via video link.

Crews from Yorkshire Ambulance Service will be connected to stroke specialists at Hull Royal Infirmary on video calls rather than voice calls. More via BBC News

Guernsey seeks new Chief Fire Officer

Guernsey’s Fire and Rescue Service is looking for a “strategic and influential leader” to be the island’s new chief fire officer.

The successful candidate would be paid an annual salary of up to £130,000, according to an online job advert. More via BBC News
