Dyfed-Powys Police will use nearly half of its £1m Home Office hotspot policing money to increase the number of patrols in anti-social behaviour hotspots. And North East Ambulance Service has been named as one of the top performing organisations in the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (ENEI) TIDE assessment for 2024.

Force boosts anti-social behaviour efforts with an extra 11,000 hours of police patrols

Nearly half of the £1m Home Office hotspot policing money allocated to Dyfed-Powys Police will be used to increase the number of police patrols in areas where anti-social behaviour is a big problem in parts of Wales. More via Emergency Services Times

South Wales chief sets out ambition to be ‘a truly bilingual police service’

As nearly 18 per cent of the population of Wales is Welsh speaking, Chief Constable Jeremy Vaughan has set South Wales Police a target to ensure his force is representative of the community it serves. PFNI tells Prime Minister Stormont is ‘major part of policing problem’

The Chair of the Police Federation for Northern Ireland (PFNI), Liam Kelly, has told the Prime Minister that Stormont is ‘a major part of the policing problem’. In support of the Chief Constable, Mr Kelly set out the deep and worsening crisis facing the PSNI and made a direct appeal for UK Government intervention. More via PFNI

Tower block residents tell of fire safety fears

Residents of Pitcairn House in Hackney say they are concerned about the suitability of their one evacuation route should a fire break out. Moreover, numerous leaks and exposed wires coming through ceiling panels are exacerbating the situation, according to the Hackney Citizen, leaving residents wondering if they should stay or go. Kent hospital has fastest ambulance handover times

A Kent hospital has recorded the shortest ambulance handover times in England this summer, according to NHS data. Medway Maritime hospital in Gillingham had an average ambulance handover time of just over 12 minutes between April and July. More via BBC News
