South East Coast Ambulance Service has shared its new values, developed in consultation with staff from the Trust, as it seeks to evolve, improve patient outcomes and experience and ensure long-term sustainability.

Having recently launched its five-year strategy, the Trust says the values of integrity, kindness and courage have been chosen to shape guide and influence how staff behave at work and how they treat patients. Taken together, the Trust says, they should been seen as a ‘collective to work most effectively.’

“Working with our people, we are keen to ensure that our new values are not just words on a page but underpin everything we do and are truly lived and embodied by everyone.

“As we start the important work of deliver our new five-year clinically lead strategy, these values will fundamentally provide us with guiding principle in delivering the very best possible service to our communities.”

Simon Weldon, Chief Executive, SECAmb.

The Trust says that kindness is at the heart of SECAmb and defines its approach to care.. ‘We are committed to being compassionate and respectful in every interaction, ensuring that every patient, colleague, and community member feels valued and supported.’

Courage is fundamental to delivering exceptional care, according to the Trust, it means standing up for what is right, advocating for fair treatment, and striving for excellence in patient care.

The third value of integrity ‘underpins every aspect of SECAmb, ensuring we act with honesty and transparency. We are committed to making fair and ethical decisions, maintaining consistency in our practices.’
