Staff at West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) have begun the exciting transition to the newly redeveloped Fire Service Headquarters (FSHQ).

ICT and Property teams were the first to move into the new site, with their arrival kicking off a series of events planned over the next five months to orient staff and prepare for further transitions.

The orientation event provided staff with a tour of the new facilities, an introduction to their workspaces, and guidance on using meeting rooms and communal areas. The session also included an opportunity for staff to share their feedback, shaping how the building works as additional teams settle in over the coming months.

Staff were welcomed into the new briefing room/lecture theatre, before touring the new site and enjoying lunch together. With its cutting-edge design and features, the FSHQ aims to provide a collaborative, efficient, and inspiring environment for all staff.

Feedback collected during these sessions will be instrumental in refining the building’s operations, ensuring it meets the needs of teams as they move in throughout the coming months.

The new headquarters represents an important step forward for WYFRS, as it continues to innovate and support staff in delivering exceptional service to the community.

Emergency Services Times Editor, Catherine Levin, will be visiting West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s newly redeveloped FSHQ in January, so keep an eye out for more details in the New Year.
