Fire Aid has launched a unique charity fundraising campaign which sees 20 artists come together to breathe new life into condemned fire helmets by transforming them into works of art to be sold at an online fundraising auction.

Fire Aid, an organisation dedicated to improving fire and rescue services in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities, sourced the helmets that had once served on the front lines of emergency response but had reached the end of their operational life.

Each helmet was delivered to a carefully selected artist, from well-known street artists and illustrators to sculptors and contemporary painters, who were given complete freedom to transform the helmets into unique works of art.

The funds raised by the auction will support the Fire Aid’s crucial work delivering life-saving equipment, training, and support to fire services, where resources are scarce but the need is immense.

The helmet auction is now open, with online bidding available to ensure supporters from around the world can take part.
