Following a competitive tender process, K Lamb Associates (KLA) has been awarded a three-year contract with South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (SYFRS).

Starting 28 April 2025, KLA will be responsible for delivering all manner of Incident Command Training and Assessment for SYFRS, from ICL1 through to ICL4.

“It is an honour to be awarded this contract and to once again work closely with such a professional and progressive fire service.”

Katherine Lamb, founder and CEO of K Lamb Associates.

Support as and when needed

KLA is always ready to provide support whenever a call comes in from a fire and rescue service.

One example to highlight this is the case of a senior manager in the Learning & Development Department at Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service (DFRS), who reached out to KLA with an urgent request for support.

The task, to help them get over an acute staffing issue in their Incident Command Training Team. KLA was asked if it could deliver, at short notice, three days of SFJ Awards-Effective Command-ICL1 Revalidation Assessments for 12 of DFRS ICL1 delegates.

The KLA ICL1 Assessment Delivery Model that both parties agreed would help on this occasion was the remote delivery option. Utilising MS Teams, KLA’s three-person team, supported by a DFRS trainer, delivered credible scenarios and assessments using the Effective command Behavioural Marking Tool.
