After the successful launch of For Every Response, the Emergency Services Times podcast, season two promises to bring fresh insights into how blue light leaders are navigating a complex world while keeping communities safe.

Returning as our headline sponsor, MSA Safety continues to support our podcast so that we can bring you more opportunities for your continuing professional development.

This time round, Lanna and I interview 10+ leaders. The beauty of working across the emergency services means that we get to speak to a huge range of people and we are bringing you an impressive line-up over the next three months.

The new season kicks off on 6 May with an exclusive interview featuring national JESIP lead, David Boyle. He talked to me about how he has brought decades of experience in Bedfordshire Police to this important national role. You may think the joint working principles of JESIP are business as usual, but there is still plenty of work going on embedding the approach, training, learning and most importantly sharing through Joint Organisational Learning.

In our second episode be sure to subscribe to hear Adam Hopper talking to Lanna about a campaign to reduce violence against ambulance staff. With press coverage in recent days sharing the 22k+ attacks on paramedics that were reported in one year alone, it’s a timely interview for Lanna to find out how data and a human touch are the key to a successful campaign outcome.

Future episodes include my conversation with Amanda Coleman, a hugely experienced crisis communications specialist where we talk about the closure of Heathrow and why leaders should really be all over crisis comms well before disaster strikes.

I talk to Carl Christie from green transport organisation, Cenex about our recent report where we get into the detail about the transition to electric fleets. and why that is definitely a topic for every leader’s to do list. If you haven’t already seen Blue lights, green fleet, do check it out, it’s our first report based on a Freedom of Information request to all 108 emergency services.

As you can see, leadership comes in all sorts of forms and as the season progresses, you’ll see that even more. No more spoilers from me though, you will have to subscribe to be the first to hear each new episode released every Tuesday until mid July.

This is your chance to gain some CPD-accredited learning and get yourself ready to join us at The Emergency Services Show on 17 and 18 September – register now to secure your free place.
