Local charity Hearts for Herts has boosted the lifesaving capability of the emergency services in Hertfordshire by donating 18 bleed kits to police stations across the county.

Supported by Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan Ash-Edwards, the public access bleed control kits will be located alongside defibrillators in cabinets already in use by the force. The PCC had previously funded the cost of the defibrillators when former PCC David Lloyd was in office.

Each of the kits will be registered with East of England Ambulance Service and GoodSAM.

Justin Honey-Jones is the Chair of charity Hearts for Herts and a practising paramedic. He said the the latest donation Hertfordshire Constabulary was part of a fundraising drive that has seen 350 bleed kits bought and placed in locations across the county including nine in Greater Anglia train stations.

Police stations benefitting from the donation include St Albans, Bishops Stortford and Watford.
