Aluminium Marine Consultants Ltd (AMC), in collaboration with Walker Marine Design (WMD), will be showcasing its latest innovation in fire and marine response at The Emergency Services Show at the NEC in Birmingham on 17–18 September.

The highlight of the display is the 8-metre rapid response vessel, a versatile, 40-knot craft designed to support fire, marine, and harbour operations. Engineered to operate daily under local authority control while being ready for emergency deployment, the vessel exemplifies AMC’s approach to delivering practical, cost-effective solutions for modern emergency services. The boat is emblazoned with logos, including ours here at Emergency Services Times.

The vessel’s multi-role design reflects AMC’s strategy of tailoring solutions to meet evolving operational challenges. With the ability to handle firefighting, search and rescue, and patrol functions, the 8m rapid response vessel is built to maximise efficiency while reducing the need for extensive specialist training. Its shared usage model allows local authorities and emergency services to operate the vessel without the high ongoing costs typically associated with advanced marine platforms.

Equipped with an FFS 300 diesel fire pump and dual monitors capable of delivering 5,000 litres per minute over a 70-metre range, the vessel can tackle initial fire suppression at sea. Two onboard hydrant outlets also enable it to support onshore firefighting operations, making it a flexible tool for a variety of scenarios.

The 8m craft is the smallest in AMC’s lineup, which spans vessels from 8 to 36 meters, including fireboats, search and rescue vessels, and patrol platforms. Each design is built with operator input, ensuring alignment with risk assessments, integrated risk management plans, and real-world operational requirements.

By bringing this vessel to The Emergency Services Show, AMC and WMD aim to demonstrate how modern design, combined with practical, user-focused features, can enhance operational readiness while managing costs. Attendees will have the opportunity to see firsthand how the vessel’s advanced capabilities, such as high-speed response, firefighting efficiency, and multi-role adaptability, can support emergency services in tackling today’s complex maritime and coastal risks.

Visitors to The Emergency Services Show can expect a close-up look at the 8m rapid response vessel, gain insights into its operational advantages, and explore AMC’s wider portfolio of vessels designed to meet the diverse demands of contemporary emergency services.
