Panasonic is set to demonstrate the TOUGHBOOK G2 EMS Tablet at The Emergency Tech Show, showing how the rugged device supports ambulance crews in delivering faster and safer patient care.

The TOUGHBOOK G2 EMS has been developed with the needs of emergency medical services in mind. Built for durability and long shifts, it offers advanced connectivity through 5G standalone, WiFi 6 and eSIM compatibility, alongside glove-friendly touchscreens and sealed ports to support infection control.

It integrates with Ortvius’ MobiMed software to provide real-time access to secure patient data at the scene of an incident and can be docked into vehicle-specific mounts for seamless use on the move.

Running on Windows 11 Pro and powered by Intel Core i5 vPro, the tablet supports secure integration into healthcare IT systems. The move to Windows 11 is expected to be a talking point at the show, with Windows 10 support ending shortly afterwards.

Recent Panasonic research suggests that two-thirds of emergency services devices will need to be replaced or upgraded, while 94% of respondents expressed concern about the cyber security risks of delaying migration.

“Emergency services are under immense pressure to respond faster, operate smarter, and stay secure. Panasonic’s G2 EMS Tablet perfectly embodies our knowledge and experience of what emergency services teams need in the field, enabling them to stay connected, protected, and focused on delivering the best care possible.”

Will Holmes, Business Manager (Public Sector) at Panasonic TOUGHBOOK.

Panasonic says it is also seeing more services moving towards subscription-based procurement models. Its Mobile-IT As-a-Service (MaaS) offering bundles rugged hardware, software, installation and security into a single package, giving organisations predictable monthly costs and reducing the burden of maintaining legacy equipment.
