Cadcorp – an NEC company, has launched a new web-based application designed to help organisations present location-based information through interactive digital content.

The application, called Mapestry, allows users to combine maps with text, images and video to create online pages that communicate geographic information in a more visual and accessible format. It is aimed at organisations such as public safety bodies that need to share complex location-based data with a wide range of audiences.

Instead of using static documents or reports, Mapestry enables the creation of responsive web pages that integrate interactive mapping features, including pan and zoom controls, layer selection and feature information. The platform is built around a set of configurable components that allow users to design and publish content with limited technical expertise.

According to Cadcorp, the tool is intended to support activities such as community risk communication, public safety campaigns and emergency preparedness and response planning by providing a single, shareable online format for location-based information.

To showcase the full capabilities of Mapestry, Cadcorp will be hosting an online launch event on 10 February 2026. This session will be a live demonstration of Mapestry and how to use it to connect more effectively with stakeholders and the wider community. For more details on Mapestry and to register for the online event, click here.
