Frequentis UK and Air Ambulances UK (AAUK) have announced a new partnership aimed at strengthening support for emergency medical aviation services across the country.

The agreement will see Frequentis UK collaborate with AAUK — the national organisation representing the UK’s 21 air ambulance charities — through shared expertise, awareness campaigns and fundraising activity. The partnership will help bolster the resilience of services that provide advanced pre-hospital critical care to patients with life-threatening injuries or illnesses.

Frequentis UK, part of the global Frequentis Group network, provides safety-critical communication systems to emergency services organisations. The company said its work with AAUK reflects its commitment to supporting rapid-response teams operating in high-pressure environments.

The UK’s air ambulance charities collectively carry out an average of 134 missions a day, most funded almost entirely through public donations. Each mission costs around £4,165 on average, underlining the importance of partnerships in meeting rising demand for emergency care.

Mark Heaven, head of corporate fundraising at Air Ambulances UK, said Frequentis UK’s expertise in safety-critical operations made the collaboration a natural fit. “Their understanding of emergency response and commitment to supporting the sector will help strengthen the vital role air ambulance charities deliver every day,” he said.

Mike Garrod, managing director of Frequentis UK, said the company was proud to support the charities’ lifesaving work. “As a provider of safety-critical communications for emergency services, we understand the importance of rapid, reliable response. Through this partnership, we hope to help ensure air ambulance crews can continue saving lives every day,” he said.

Employees at Frequentis UK will also take part in fundraising and awareness initiatives to highlight the role air ambulance services play in the UK’s emergency response system.
