Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has received an £85,096 grant from The Vinehill Trust to invest in new monitoring equipment for its critical care teams.

The funding will enable the charity to purchase four ZOLL X Series Monitor/Defibrillator units, along with six months’ supply of essential consumables. The compact monitor and defibrillator is designed for emergency medical services and provides advanced patient monitoring, defibrillation and real-time clinical feedback.

The equipment is used both at the scene of medical emergencies and during the transfer of critically ill or injured patients. Technology of this level is typically associated with pre-hospital critical care teams and major trauma units.

Having access to the monitors in the field enables Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s flight doctors and critical care paramedics to stabilise patients more quickly, helping improve survival and recovery outcomes following serious incidents.

Since launching in May 1991, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has delivered advanced pre-hospital clinical care across the region, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Karen Baker, associate clinical operations director at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said the investment will support the organisation’s ongoing focus on delivering hospital-level care at the scene.

“For 35 years, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has been at the forefront of pre-hospital emergency medicine, continually investing in the tools and technology that allow us to deliver hospital-level care at the scene,” she said.

“These additional ZOLL X Series monitors strengthen that commitment even further. Thanks to The Vinehill Trust’s generous support, our clinicians can continue to provide the most advanced critical care to patients when they need it most.”

ZOLL is an exhibitor at The Emergency Services Show at the NEC from 16-17 September, and will be exhibiting on Stand J45. Check out the full exhibitor list here.
