Redtronic launches updated Star M6 covert vehicle light

UK manufacturer Redtronic has introduced a new version of its Star M6 covert LED directional, building on feedback from users to improve flexibility, installation and maintenance.

The Star M6 is designed for covert and unmarked vehicles, retaining a slim, low-profile form with dual-colour capability. When fitted with a tint strip, the unit remains largely hidden until activated, while still meeting ECE R65 Class I (blue) requirements.

A key change in the second-generation model is the introduction of a removable visor system. Whereas the previous version had a fixed visor, the updated design allows users to select from a range of options: 25°, 45°, 60°, or an adjustable 30°–82° visor, depending on vehicle type and windscreen angle. This modular approach is intended to make installation easier across different fleet configurations and allows the light to be removed and refitted more easily if a windscreen is replaced.

The unit has been designed with in-vehicle use in mind, with no sharp edges or hardened materials. Installation is supported by a USB-C connector, which allows the cable to exit from either side, and an optional daisy-chain wiring setup to power multiple units from a single feed.

The Star M6 can be synchronised with other Redtronic products and is compliant with EMC R10 standards and ECE R65 Class II (blue and amber). It operates on 11–32VDC and is supplied with a three-year warranty.

Available configurations include blue/white, blue/red and blue/amber, with both adhesive mounting (including primer and tint strip) and an optional U-bracket for mechanical fitting.

Redtronic, which has supplied visual and audible warning equipment to emergency and safety services since 1983, manufactures its products in the UK and sources around 77% of its raw materials domestically. The launch of the updated Star M6 reflects ongoing development in vehicle lighting aimed at supporting emergency and response fleets.
