Coptrz partners with Avy to bring autonomous drone networks to UK emergency services

Coptrz has been named the exclusive UK partner for Avy in the emergency services and defence sectors, in a move that signals growing momentum behind long-range drone operations.

The UK drone specialist will now bring Avy’s fixed-wing technology into its offering, expanding beyond multirotor systems. This includes the Aera aircraft and Avy Dock, a drone-in-a-box system designed to support autonomous deployments.

At the centre of the partnership is Avy’s drone network model. It combines long-endurance aircraft with remote docking stations, allowing drones to take off, land and recharge without anyone on site. Systems can be operated from a central control room, with response times of around 30 seconds.

The setup is built for scale. Multiple drones can be deployed across a network to gather aerial intelligence or deliver payloads, supported by automated flight operations, AI-driven image processing and pre-planned mission routes.

For UK emergency services, defence and wider public sector organisations, the partnership opens up new use cases. These include logistics, medical delivery and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

It also aligns with increasing demand for secure, non-Chinese supply chains in government procurement, an area where Coptrz has been positioning itself.

The growing role of drones and robotics in frontline operations will also be in focus at The Emergency Tech Show 2026, taking place at the NEC Birmingham on 16–17 September. The event will feature a dedicated Drone & Robotics Zone, where visitors can see live demonstrations, test new systems and explore how technologies such as AI, LiDAR and thermal imaging are being applied across fire, police, ambulance and search and rescue settings.
