New partnership for ambulance focused research

Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust (YAS) and the University of Sheffield School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) have joined forces to develop and deliver ambulance-focused research to help improve patient care.

Both organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding and are committed to improving services and creating research that benefits patients and the wider public.

Staff from YAS and ScHARR will have the opportunity to co-develop and produce high quality research studies and will also benefit from joint training sessions.

Dr Steven Dykes, Executive Medical Director at Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust said,

“This is an excellent opportunity for both Yorkshire Ambulance Service and the University of Sheffield to develop research that is impactful to our local communities. This agreement solidifies the good working relationships we already have in place and ensures that we continue to work together in meaningful way.”

Professor Steve Goodacre, Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Sheffield added,

“This is an important initiative that strengthens our existing relationship between Yorkshire Ambulance Service and the University of Sheffield. I look forward to building our relationship and enhancing our ability to deliver impactful research.”
