The National Fire Chiefs Council’s Academic Collaboration, Evaluation and Research (ACER) board is hosting its first conference on 18 and 19 March with academic speakers sharing work focused on prevention, protection, response, looking after people, and how history may play a role in the culture of fire and rescue services.

A three year research project by the  Yorkshire Ambulance Service Research Institute will help improve understanding of the health implications for older people who fall at home and where demands on ambulances mean they are there for a prolonged period.
