CPDme streamlining Continuing Professional Development online

At this year’s Emergency Services Show and Emergency Tech Show, CPDme is once again providing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation for the free content sessions available to visitors to the NEC on 18 and 19 September. More via Emergency Services Times

Team making strides in fight against organised retail crime

Just over three months into opening up referrals from police forces and retailers, Opal, policing’s central intelligence team, has identified more than 152 individuals linked to organised retail crime and facilitated more than 23 arrests of high harm offenders. Leicester fire crews move out of home after half a century

A branch of Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) has moved to a new home. The Eastern branch has been based in Hastings Road Fire Station, in North Evington, since the building opened more than 50 years ago. More via Leicestershire Live

Guernsey hosts ‘essential’ ambulance meeting

An “essential” meeting of various ambulance services was a “resounding success” and will help them work together across the islands, bosses say. Earlier in August, Guernsey hosted the annual two-day Islands Ambulance Service Forum, which is made up of ambulance services in Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight and Gibraltar. College of Policing ‘concerned’ about Victims’ Commissioner report findings

The College of Policing has said it is concerned that some victims are not confident that reporting a crime will lead to justice. Work is now underway to improve investigations so more victims of crime can get justice. More via College of Policing
